The MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 or MP3 player is the most common way to store audio files. It is also the standard format playback of these files. There are several myths regarding who invented the MP3 Player and which was the first unit to be mass produced and sold.

1.The MP3 Player was actually created by a group of engineers called the Moving Picture Experts Groups.
2.The group was made up of a couple of different teams of engineers. These teams came from Fraunohoter ISS, AT - T Bell Laps, Thomson-Brandt, CCETT and several others. They were looking for a way to store audio files without having to use massive amounts of data space.
